Given the animosity the surviving buck had after he was freed (he still wanted/tried to fight), is it possible he tried to fight the other buck AFTER it had been killed and that's how he got entangled?

It'd be an odd thing for a predator to kill one, not both, of those bucks, given how weak the second one was as well. They were similarly sized so no obvious advantage to killing one or the other...

Not always. Years back was a buck locked with a dead head. He survived. Must have been a huge relief when he shed

There used to be one in the Winnipeg Sporting Goods store with three entangled bucks very rare I guess to have three
