the gun, the rifle, the 270 the 243 or whatever.

Anyone name their 3/8 ratchet & 9/16 socket? (other than POS after busting some knuckles?)

I think naming your tools is kinda weird.

Davy Crockett had Ole Betsy. But then, what can you say about a man that wore a coonskin hat.

It's pretty obvious you've never run an air ratchet and you have some special names too!

"the deli lama" - that is clever. I like it.

.243win Tikka laminated stainless is "Stinky" b/c shortly after I got it I made the mistake of shooting a skunk that was upwind of me

300wsm Rem 700 CDL SF is "Sweetness" b/c I christened it near the sweet grass hills. When sweetness kisses you goodnight, you don't wake up.

45-70gov't Marlin Stainless Guide Gun is "Bubba" b/c its a little slow, but hits like a freight train.

Last, but not least, the old .303 brit is "Bill" b/c my uncle Bill gave it to me as my first rifle.

Don't know why, but I have never named my shotguns.

Anyway, I digress... on to a suggestion for you. My opinion is that you cannot really name a rifle until its first kill, but given the model what about "The A-bomb"

I agree....i just don't think i can name it until it 'gets some'. I haven't shot a coyote in a while, should probably try and bust its cherry on one of them in the 400 yrd range before aug 25th if i can and see what those accubonds are all about....otherwise, hunting gods willing, first kill could be a ram and then it just might get called 'old horns on the wall' from that point on should that happen......i've got everyting i've got two of crossed.

I personally think that you cant give yourself or your rifle a nickname! Thats what you have buddies for.

I only have one rifle that ever deserved a nickname. It was a very accurate heavy 308 that Shooter and Rem338 named "SAFEWAY" because hunting game with it was as sure as going to safeway for your meat.
