GAME DAY! The sun's shining, the birds are chirping, had the Harley out for a ride today..

The Oilers fighting for first place in their division AND their Conference, and are all the talk and the toast of the NHL right now, and for good reason..

The Flamers fighting for their miserable lives, and could be getting that mercy bullet to the head tonight...

All's well in 'Berta!

GO TEAM!!!

Ed, it’s a REALLY good feeling isn’t it. I keep telling my son that he is watching something he will likely never see again in terms of what 97 and 29 are doing on a nightly basis. Only one team wins, and tons have to go right for that to happen, but to be in that serious conversation as a favourite is ALL a fan can ask for, particularly with 32 teams.

I am savouring this.

For those of us who got to watch the first Oilers go at the cups, this team is turning out eerily similar. Everything is falling into place, hopefully no brain farts that cost them a series and they can make a deep run to the cup.

Going to put my Oilers flag on the car window this weekend.

Yup 1985 2nd cup, game 5 against the Flyers, clinched the cup at home, I was at that game, then on Jasper Ave after the game, it was a little nut's but very electric.

Well hate to say this , but the brain fart will be a memo from the one and only Gary Bettman to insure that the Oilers will never make it to the cup final .
Any one want to place a beat line on this ?

Late to the party yet saw most of the affair. Timely saves by the Skinner and we buried our opportunities. I know, not a team in the running yet keep the pedal down.
As has been mentioned, there is a boys on the bus chorus going on here isn't there. Whether you saw them in their heyday or not, feast on it while you can boys and girls. I lived it and am living it again baby!!!
GO OIL!!!!!

Kings lost, Home ice advantage first round at least.

No we get the kings but have home ice advantage, the only way we get a wild card team is to finish 1st, We still have a mathematical chance of getting 1st but if it ends the way it is now it would be

Knights - Jets
Avs - Kraken
Wild - Stars
Oil - Kings

A wise man would look at the western conference and draw a reasoned conclusion that there is a helluva good chance the Mighty Oil are going to the Stanley Cup.

Just think if the Oil could bump LV out of top spot and the flamers could bump the Jets out of the last WC spot the first round would be a BOA baby could this AO forum handle that it is still all mathematically possible

Still a chance for first, plus still a chance the Kraken can pass the Kings for third in the division. Talk about down to the wire!
