The Leafs definitely got a break when they didn't call a penalty for high sticking with less than a minute left in the game. So obvious Ray Charles wouldn't have missed that one.

Broken sticks seem to be game changers now a days…..these athletes are super strong, fast etc but can’t handle a real wooden stick….gotta be something out there that will last a period of play and not let you down?

The high tech composite sticks give a performance advantage over the wood, particularly in shot speed due to their flex. I think most players want that trade off.

How many times have you seen this happen to a goal tender?

No denying the stick hit him..lightly , he tried to do the soccer cry. Didn't have a mark on him and balling for a penalty.
The hockey book "Black and White and Never Right" written by NHL ref Vern Buffy is great , one story where a player got fanned by a stick and started crying. Vern said "Oh #off i cut myself worse shaving in the morning"

Best thing to happen. Avs and Bruins out.

Oilers need to come out hard on Vegas. No slacking. Beat Vegas and the odds swing hard to the Oilers favour.

Fun times.

True but there’s gotta be something better giving the best of both worlds you would think.

Got to be hungry! Hungrier than the other team!
Gotta want it! Gotta want it more than other team!
Gotta finish checks!
Gotta forecheck hard!
Gonna have to be firing on all cylinders!
Need to win those ugly puck battles!
Need to come out hard and hitting!
Need to pop a couple early ones and not let up!
Need solid goaltending tonight!
Can’t have D looking weak!
Gotta capitalize on other teams mistakes!
Need depth scoring as well!
Need to put more pucks in the back of the net than your opponent does!
^ that’s a big one.
Need to take every series to seven games for Leo and Connor to pad the most playoff points ever!

Note to self: You can sit in the boat for over three hours waiting for the indicator to go down...what's another 15 minutes?

That face you make when Draisaitl scores 4 goals, and yet...

Drai with 4 goals, but he gave away more packs than that. So did others. Drai with 4 goals, other 4 players all with multiple points; 11 players with points for Vegas. Also, you cannot go over 5 minutes without a shot on goal.

Imo, they’ll join the Flames if they continue to play like that. Likely in 6.

Somehow the Oilers never manage to win the 1st game of a series, we got em right where we want em

Sloppy, to many give aways that ended up in the back of our net, got to tighten that up, still some lazy penalties got to clean that up to.

Vegas is fast and capitalizes on turn overs, their transition game is good

Join the Flames? Flames never made this show. They were a speck in the rearview mirror down with 15 other participation medal winners.

These 2 teams are so close it's basically a chess game. We saw how they beat us last game, we'll beat them next game. Now it's a matter of changing our plan from game 2 to game 3, just enough to keep them off balance. As mentioned, we got them right where we want them. GO OIL!!

PS. Stop turning the puck over in the neutral zone.
Skinny has to make a save or 2 more as well.
As always, stay out of the sin bin

^ Haha. And holy poop, checked the score a d it is 4-0 for the oil!

Looks like an epic first period, 19 to 4 shots on goal with 4-0 lead.
