Default Still rolling!!!

Fishing here at Great Pacific Salmon Lodge has really picked up again. Though they are not jumping in the boat, we are able to hit Limits and more importantly show our guests what a true sporting experience can be.
What I cant believe, is the amount of Tyee class fish we are hooking into. This week alone saw 10-12 hooked and 8 landed including our new Lodge record of 38 Pounds all this and a 70 pound Hali. A few Coho are around these days as well. Obviously the size isn’t there yet on these feisty fish, but every day they seem to get a bit bigger and bit more sporty. Personally, I can’t wait to break out my Fly rod and my Islander LX3.8. Nothing can compare to the rush that you find while fly fishing Coho. Even if your not casting to them, the fight that ensues is just magical.
The general fishing plan these days is to avoid “Chasing the Bite”. Time after time we hear of people going where we were yesterday only to float around for 10 hours. Our head guide Matt Anderson recognised what was going on and immediately implemented a new strategy. With the rain we are seeing these days, it will become even more important to start hunting these fish.
On an equipment note, Our Islander MR2’s and MR3’s are proving themselves invaluable on these big fish. The training exercise we have put together really seems to be working with the guests who are just starting out on these fine pieces of equipment.
We still have room this summer for those that would like to experience the Lodge and all that it offers. I would invite you all to come experience what we have put together.
