Default No more crack smoking on the beach says BC Premier....

The BC provincial government is starting to realize that pandering to drug addicts won't get them reelected. Sounds like the rank and file BCer's are getting tired of all the chaos and bs.

They're walking back their legalized drug laws so it's no longer legal to consume drugs in public. Talk about a poorly thought through plan in the first place. It was legal to just start smoking fentanyl anywhere in public and exposing the rest of the citizens to whatever toxins they're smoking. If second hand tobacco smoke is bad, I can only imagine 2nd hand fentanyl.

I feel bad for the poor souls who are addicts, but come on.

Must have affected a politician or one of their family personally ,otherwise I don't think they would have figured it out.

Wow, the left coast is really getting tough.
Are they going to stop the safe supply program?

Anyone with the slightest bit of common sense saw this coming. It's unfortunate that the leftist B.C. government couldn't see it.

Crackheads probably started visiting their posh neighbourhoods. Well, we can’t have that now can we? Tisk tisk.

Like they're going to listen anyway. When they're freely using inside of hospitals and other public spaces, why would they care about beaches, when technically, they weren't supposed to use there to begin with.

NDP attempted to reinstate open drug use laws, drug advocates took them to court and the SC ruled that it was "inhumane" to make comply. What they need to do is follow Oregon's decision that decriminalization was a full blown fail and reinstate criminalization.

This is coming on leaked memos sent out by health ministries telling nurses how to accommodate open drug use in hospital settings.

Guess because the new conservative opposition is within striking distance of knocking off the NDP in provincial election. NDP strongholds downtown Vancouver, Surrey, Victoria, Nanaimo, Saanich thought the election this year would be a simple victory, however times are changing fast. NDP have latched on with liberals. This has consequences.

Some back peddling. Eby says he wants it illegal however cops will only intervene in exceptional circumstances.

So I’m not expecting cops to do anything. Maybe doing drugs in the hospital or inside a school…maybe.

Now looks like an excuse to say they did something without having to do anything.
