Well they are at 5 in a row now, things are looking better, they look like a team on a mission.......... guarded optimism

Watched 2 great games back to back last night, the Timmins Rock of the NOJHL where my grandson plays came from down 2 - 0 to score 4 in the 3rd for a 5 - 4 win, the boy potted 2 more goals last night and the Rock stretched their lead atop the NOJHL east to 4 points.

Then over to catch the oilers game and again a great game to watch, Fluery was standing on his head, the boys were buzzing and it's now 6 wins in a row, no time to let off the pedal boys........ hammer down

Well that didn’t take long to catch and pass the flames with still 2 games at hand, knocking them out of a playoff spot…….
Mcdavids 21 points in 8 games might of helped. Along with goaltending playing well currently and the defensive game looks like a totally different team.
The way they are playing right now is scary good.

Need to take a closer look the Flames were not in a playoff spot and neither are the Oilers but I do think they will be shortly the way they are playing.

Was at the game with my daughter. Had a great time the teams playing awesome, no panic on the back end Pickard played well. Things are moving in the right direction.

Yup. You are correct.
I believe they are dialed in now. Playoffs seem almost probable.
Only thing that could change that is mcdavid gets hurt for a few weeks or more.
Then we looking at .500 hockey at best.

When you posted this I thought you were crazy. Lol. Only 5 more to go....

I get pretty rough on the organization but don't mind eating crow if they keep winning! I'd still get rid of Nurse tho....

A solid effort last night in both ends of the ice, the goal Bedard scored was a beauty, the kids is fun to watch, more importantly the Oil stretched the win streak to 8 very nice boy's ........ roll on

Haven’t been posting on here because I’m superstitious. Now that we are 8 in a row here are my observations. Coaching change has tightened up the plays, they are simpler and more effective defensively and offensively. Defence across the board is better, way better. Nurse is playing the best hockey I’ve seen him play, Bouchards mistakes are less common, thank you Paul Coffee. The 4th line looks better than the third line. Connor McDavid is the best hockey player I’ve ever seen.
Go Oilers

Out goaltended, plain and simple. Stu should of had goals 3, 4, and 5.

Stu has been plying great lately, so I believe he will bounce back on Saturday.

The score was 3 a piece when I looked with 9 minutes left to go, lol. That escalated quickly.

Agree but Skinner and Vasilevskiy are not remotely in the same league.

The game last night really shows what a franchise goaltender can do for a team instead of a backup goalie trying to be the #1 goalie.... IMO, the Oilers won't progress with any consistency if they don't get a true #1 goaltender... thnx
