Default finding bullet seat depth

I was just working up a few reloads for my 22-250 today and being still in the learning stage of reloading i haven't found a good way to find the seat depth for my rifle. most of the ways i have seen online all require either a special tool or removing the firing pin and i would rather not have to do that if possible. what other ways are there to find seat depth?
