What is the best bang for buck in the 200-300 range?

Bought a pair of Bushnell Excursions for around $250 a couple years ago. Not bad glass for the price. If you can swing it I would highly recommend the Nikon Monarch binos, they go for $429 I think. However they are the best bang for your buck when it comes to binos IMO.

Bushnell, Vortex, Nikon all have options in that range. If you can, there is nothing better than comparing models side by side in the store.
I'm very very happy with my Bushnell Legend Ultra HD 10x42 binos. Bushnell always seems to have a rebate on these, making them clearly the best bang for buck the last time I shopped for binos.

Other than boots, binos are likely to be your most used hunting tool. I have tried many less expensive sets only to be disappointed over time. If you can manage $400.00-$500.00 you can start getting a bit better quality at that range. If not, save your money a bit longer and buy them then. This will save you wasting $200.00 on a pair you will end up replacing.

Leupold Acadia all the way man! I bought mine for 325-350 , 8X42, clear, gather lots of light. They are comparable to my buddy's 8.5X42 swarovskis, look through a pair and see what you think.

Best bang for buck in that range is the Vortex Diamondback. Just bought a pair today. A step up to the Vortex Viper HD gives you made in Japan quality and better optics, but for $420 MORE. The difference, in the store, is barely noticeable IF you even know what you are looking for. Otherwise they're pretty much identical. And it's a small enough price tag that you don't mind replacing it in 2 years when you hit the VLTs big, and just keep the cheaper one in the truck all the time.

I bought a pair of leupold bx3 mojaves 10x42 for 300$ a year or two back. Have to say I'm quite happy with them. Had I not got them for that price I would have gone the vortex route. Vortex glass is pretty decent for the price point and their warranty is top notch from what I hear.

Nikon Monarchs are good, and their are a number of models in that range. I think the Monarch 3's come in around $200-$300. I've owned them in 8x42 and was happy with them. Picked up a new pair of Monarch 7's in 10x42 last month, but they are double the price range you are looking at.

I have had expensive ones and always go back to my Vortex set. The life time no fault warranty makes them the best. Lets face it you will bust or chip a set in the bush. May take years but it will happen.

I am happy with my Vortex... but I agree with what others have said... go have a look and see what is in your price range and what is outside the range and decide for yourself if its worth saving up or if you would be happy with your budget. Plus its fun dreaming of a swaro....

I wasn't impressed with the vortex diamondbacks...I thought the Nikon 3 in the same price range were far better...the vortex vipers are quite nice though

Im on the vortex bandwagon as well. I was in the same situation as you last year and I ended up getting a pair of Vortex Diamondbacks 10x42. Quite happy with them so far, great bang for your buck. Can't beat their warranty either.

These are great binos but I think they are more in the $400 range. I bought a pair of Zeiss Terra earlier in the year for a similar price but IMO the Leupolds are better.

Well I paid $300 for them through Promotive. If I had to do it over again I'd probably go with the Vortex just because of the warranty. My boss had me research which bino's to get for all our Deputies. I wasn't afforded the opportunity to look at any bino that cost more than $500 and after looking at Nikon, Bushnell Leopold Vortex and a couple others, the Vortex were clear winners for our purpose.
