Default Western Sportsman magazine-Fail

I just received my newest copy of WS magazine and on page 29 they have an article on late season whitetails but they have pictured a mule deer. I hope that new hunters do not think that they are the same. For a national mag they should have a better editing dept.

I wonder if the editor is my teacher from grade 4, miss McGilvery. We got into a yelling match over her trying to tell me a quarter had a moose on it!!! True story, there was no convincing her it was a caribou.

I often wonder if she still thinks it's a moose.

Goofs and oops happen. I think I'll wait to see if they put a correction in next months issue before I boycott...

Is the new issue on stands? Or just available to subscribers? I looked at three places in town for the new issue but no one has it.

If anyone has a copy of the magazine, that they can look at right now, can you please reply here, or PM me? I have a question, and I really can't wait to see something!

Anyone??

I was just going through this issue, and sat down to google how to contact them about the mistake, and this thread came up! I thought I've been tagging the wrong deer for years!! Clearly Western Sportsman Magazine wouldn't make a mistake like this...they are "Western Canada's Hunting & Fishing Authority" (it says so right on the top of the cover)

Ya when I was in grade two my teacher said I was dead wrong saying Rabbits make sounds , she said that they were totally mute. Tried telling her we had lots of Rabbits but she wouldn't listen. LOL

Must have been the same teacher who showed Johnny the picture of a Deer . Johnny didn't know, so she gave him a hint, What does your mother usually call your dad ? Ah, Johnny said, that's what a Horny bastard looks like.

I honestly stopped looking at that publication a long time ago.

There was a rotating door of new or guest editors.
Differing views that often contradicted the last...

While at one of the sportsman shows I was at their booth and picked up the mag to see if anything had changed.
All I got was some loudmouth representing the publications who wouldn't stop talking long enough for me to hear myself think.

When he was finally done, I told him why I would never buy another one of their magazines.

But Tbark might be on to something here

Another swift move by marketing deptartment.

My dad use to subscribe through the 80s and 90s and I used to love to read it as a kid. Then it changed it stopped being western. Around the same time they stopped printing the readers story at the back which was the best part. I haven't even flipped one open in years.

It was the last issue, not the latest one.

I thought we may see an "oops" type comment in the Jan/Feb issue apologizinng for the mistake....but alas, nothing.

hardly a big deal at all.
lots more bigger things to worry about other than this.
magazines are somewhat obsolete anyways.
