Rare truck
Has anyone ever heard of a dodge warlock or warrior ?
Made after the little red express ? Looking for any information people might have on them, I have only been able to fine one or two wright ups on it . I used to drive one as my first vehical and I sold it to a woman in my home town, 12 years later a fella pulled up to my house and handed me the keys with paper work and said i want you to have it and informed me that only 32 were made in 1992 and it was called the warrior, he thought I should have it back instead of selling it to someone that would not appresheate it. It's needs some work and a paint job
Just looking for input or things to look for to indicate if it is a warrior or the 1992 little red express.

" Two special editions of the first were constructed with step-side beds. Both were constructed by L.E.R. Industries of Edwardsburg, Michigan. The step-side beds were constructed out of fiberglass and galvineel.[1] Wooden bed rails were also available.[2]
The Li'l Red Express Dakota was made to resemble the original Express, which was based on the Dodge D-Series. It featured the classic-looking step-side bed and also had dual vertical exhaust stacks just behind the cab, which were purely cosmetic (though they could be made to be functional). The Dakota Warrior was made to resemble the Warlock trucks of the late 1970s. Warriors featured the same custom bed as the Dakota Express, but lacked the vertical exhaust stacks.[1] Both the Express and Warrior Dakotas had a graphics package made to resemble those of the original Express and Warlock, respectively.[3]
Production numbers for the Expresses and Warriors were very low, in the hundreds.[4] The rarest of those came with the 5.2 L Magnum V8 engine, which was only an option during 1992, the final year of Express and Warrior production.[1]

A friend worked at Ponoka Chrysler back in the 90's and they had/did a couple Express trucks. He said it came as a kit with a fiberglass box they put on the truck, not sure if this was the only way to get one or not but if it was there would be no tracking by the VIN number.

I ran a 77 Warlock, they were all 4x4 for a starter. Got lots of info and magazine articles, maintenance manuals, even an AMT model! Pinstriped, a Warlock hood decal, and racks. One of the favorite "undercover" vehicles as no thought of a loud truck like this as "cops".

Not all warlocks were 4x4, the also came in 2wd.
You are probably thinking of the Dodge Macho Power Wagon, they were a W150 and were made from 1977-1981. They are a super rare truck, and after 30-almost 40 years of work, play, repaints, and rebuilds, it can be much harder to find the telltale signs of a Macho.

I now own one !
In 1995 my father in law purchase. From CMP in Calgary a 1992 Dodge Warrior with a 5.2 and a/c with a cassette . Well yesterday he gave it to me . It had been driven by his wife up until her passing 4 years ago around Calgary down to the coop on 17th and for the last 8 years of her live it drove around Tumbler Ridge Bc . It now has about 150000km. I will be bringing back to Medicine Hat and replacing the front fenders because they have a little rust on the bottoms .it will get painted the proper Colorada red by Jody at Sonic auto body . They do exist but may be some of the rarest dodge pickups built . In 1992 the info I have gathers says approx 500 total , 250 black to match warlock and 250 red for warrior. Will post photos soon

The Warlocks were both two wheel drive and 4x4. My father had a 78 two wheel drive version.

I have always bin a GM fan but I have to admit they were nice trucks and well built and if I remember correctly dodge was about the only truck builder back in the 70's that was building the sportier models.I have a friend that had a 77 or 78 short box(fleetside) 4x4 that went threw hell and back but sadly it went to the atuowreckers a couple years ago.It was a great hunting and fishing truck.
