Essentially what I had written in post #6. In addition to this, purely for the readers' convenience (since they are the ones we post pics for), I link the attached images to the post itself, so that one does not have to open the attachment to view the larger image. In other words, the forums serves the role of the image hosting site as well.

For example:

Attached Images
File Type: jpg A bird and a deer.jpg (92.5 KB, 64 views)

hardly. you assumed people know how to post attachments and skipped that part-hence the step by step post to assist those that don't.

Not sure if this will help, but I found that if I reduce the photo image size on my PC to 800x600 I have no issues uploading a pic file directly to A/O. I'm using Windows Photo Gallery .. not sure about an iphone.
