Whats a reasonable price for a decent drone?
Im considering buying one,does anyone out there have any experience,can i buy one for a couple hundred bucks.thats any good? Id want it for pictures mostly. Thanks for any replies.

If you go to the store or an auction - probably start at $150. If you go by the Ukraine's price list - probably $157,497,999.00
Edit: just checked - around $60+

I bought my son a drone for Christmas last year. It was $90 on Amazon. It came with all kinds of great reviews. It flies great and he loves it. Except the range on it is about 100 yards and then it no longer “hears” the commands from the remote control. It’s ridiculous. Basically you have to run after it to keep having fun. I don’t understand who wants that. It defeats the entire point of a drone. So do your research.

I would not go with the non name brand drone. Go with DJI, start with a mini. Depending on your budget, Id look around for a good used DJI mini 2 - or maybe you want new. Mini 3's are out now so the 2's should be on sale. I paid ~$900 for the mini 2 fly more combo a few years ago. I would not consider anything other than a DJI.

Pretty sure Costco sells them now.
Got my Son a Mini SE flymore combo for Christmas. He had a couple of the $100 drones before.
Had a battery issue that DJI solved ( Flymore includes 3 batteries).
Camera quality is amazing. Picture and videos are incredible.
Super easy to fly.
Amazingly stable and controlled.

DJI or bust... Nothing else on the consumer market comes close, in both flying ability and picture/video quality.
Ken is definitely the local drone expert though !

Just had my DJI Mavic Pro (original version) out this past weekend. Got it used for $500 on kijiji last fall. Fantastic photos/videos (although the newer ones have better cameras).
It's even survived a full speed ditch into trees (pilot error). I've had to overcome a few things (battery error - got software to hack into and disable the battery error) and an autolanding issue that occurred a couple of weeks ago.
Yeah, Ken has given some invaluable advice to all of us on the AO forum.
I'll run my Mavic until I've crashed it beyond repair, then buy used again.

We own a drone surveying and inspection company.
I'd recommend a used Mavic 2 Pro that has never crashed. Check Marketplace and Kijiji
The alternative would be a new Mavic mini 3 which does not require a license to fly.
Secondary to that path: an original Mavic Pro or Mavic mini 2 (also no license needed for mini). you can still find mini 2s new for sale.
Buying the cheaper knock off stuff usually isn't worth it.
Mavic is a Chinese company but their products are very good - they dominate the market. Non-Chinese stuff increases in price quickly.

We use a Mavic to check cattle and fences
It was $1500. Excellent set up. Costly but definitely a time saver.
Im sure you can get a great drone for a lot less.
