Have come across a few instances on this highway where drivers slammed on their brakes and brought miles of traffic to a halt. I will not drive that highway in any kind of bad weather. Such is life when you keep increasing the population and hand out driver licenses in popcorn boxes.

I totally agree. It’s gonna be dangerous. I’ve used the Sheikh Zayed main Highway between Dubai and Abu Dhabi, this is titled as world most dangerous highway. I don’t agree it’s more dangerous that Hwy 2 between Calgary and Edmonton as there everyone travels fast, no police only photo radar to monitor traffic at every overhead sign. As far as I’m concerned a highway where some travel 70km/hr and some 160km/hr plus now all lanes must slow down to 60km/hr for police pulling over vehicles is even more dangerous than ever. Even main highways in Houston where everyone is moving 80mph is safer, the traffic flows and all are aware and understand the concept including the highway patrol. Oh well, I steer clear of Hwy 2 if I can help it.
