Default Red strawberry flowers

We've been growing strawberries for a few years now and have never seen a red flower. Only white flowers. Is this normal?

Hmm. I’ve never heard of red blossoms on straw berries. Maybe the berries will be white.

Do not eat the berry, it’s poisonous!

P. S. It’s fine, they come in variety of colours, basically all shades between white and red, depending on the hybrid.

Thumbs up

It is normal.
We have about 1/2 white blossoms and 1/2 Red in our patch.
Taste the same IMO.

Cheers

We also have a scattering of red blossoms in our strawberries. Not sure how it happens.

I'll report back in a couple of weeks with a taste test.

It is a sign of the apocalypse.....

On a serious note - where these formerly white flowering that turned red??? or new plantings???

Curious to get your take on which ones produce more fruit, sweeter fruit, etc... here in our climate

We have the white flower ones and the fruit size is small to average at best, yield is low but the fruit is relatively sweet.

They are blossoming red. I have 6 strawberry plants and this is the first one to flower. I'm curious to see what the other ones do.

All of my strawberry plants are producing flowers now. I wonder if my two plants with red flowers are leaching colour to the plants with white flowers, turning them pink. Each pot has a plant with red, pink, then white flowers.
