Good friend of mine got drawn in the Pincher area for a mulie where he has access to some great land along the river. shot a big buck in November and since it was a CWD area heads were required to be placed in a freezer in a nearby town. He said you were allowed to cut antlers off if you wanted but to his way of thinking cutting into the brain area (where the disease resides) with his saw was not a good plan. he has enough racks on the wall so while this one was really good he has no need for anymore taxidermy or racks at his house. Attended the freezer to find it was empty and his head barely fit with antlers intact.
Waited and waited for what was supposed to be 4-6 weeks for the CWD results and nothing. finally called last week explaining he had heard nothing and it has been a fu
ll 8-9 weeks. Easy they say give us your freezer tag number and we can look it up. Gave them the number, nothing was ever received for his tag. someone came along and took his head out of the freezer it appears.
