Default What to do with scrap brass?

Tried to take a few pounds of brass cases to the scrap yard in Airdrie today and was told they won't take it because thier guys can't tell the differance between a spent primer or a live one. I think this safety stuff is a little bit over the top. Will I go to jail if I toss them in the trash? All the primers are spent. Even offered to deprime them all. What should I do with them?

I have squished them with a hammer or vice sold them to General Scrap. Never had any problems.

They are pieces of brass that are not good anymore. Been reloaded too many times. Got about ten pounds would be about $20 worth of scrap brass. Don't have time to drive around to find a scrap yard that will take them. Maybe I will drop them off at Calgary shooting Centre. I'm sure they have a deal going with a metal recycler.

Sounds like a plan. I will make a donation to a gun club.
