Default kookcanusa report

stayed out @ kikumon; spent a couple days on the big lake going for kokanee. we did alright trolling a willow leaf/wedding ring and maggots. some wind through the valley made for a controlled troll dificult. had lots of fun fishing the little lakes for bass though. really fun place but the best places to fish require a lot of work to get to. while the fish are a bit small (largest was about 12") they are pleantyful and fun to catch. I'll try to post some pics later
cheers

I had the best luck on Stink lake as it doesn't get hit as hard and the bass seem more eager in there. Surveryors had lots look at my lures but only one take, tried a lot of gear in there.

Lots of bass in Surveyors. I got a bunch of 14"ers on flies and even managed one 17"er. It was fun snorkeling around looking at all their hiding spots.

No kidding. The wind in that valley can be downright insane at times! At what depth were you getting action? I'm pretty sure when we were out there that we weren't fishing deep enough.

not too deep; for the most part we were hooking up about 30-50' from shore; the finder was on the fritz but i'd say 30-50' deep too. i was running my rig with 35' of line and a deep6 to get it down.
cheers

What type of flies were you using? I wanted to use my fly rod but there was no room for casting from shore. I'm heading back to BC for more bass fishing next week. I brought my snorkel for watching the turtles and bass and you have to beware that the turtles go for fish lures too!
