Default Power Augers 101

I don't ice fish much, but I'm starting to enjoy it more. Can anyone comment on the "Mag 2000 Auger" by Strikemaster on the Wholesale Sports flyer?

Is an auger that cheep ($209) (roughly 50% off regular price) going to be a waste of money? From the little research I've done, Strikemaster seems to be one of the more popular brands?

Two HP this model runs a chipper (jiffy style) blade which is slower drilling but requires much less maintenance and is better in dirty ice situations.
The SOLO German engine seems to be great!

If you want the deal act quick as I doubt much is left.

They are sold out at the Calgary store. Someone went in yesterday and bought every single one. Heard he was from up north, so watch on Kijiji for a bunch of $300 new-in-box augers for sale.

I got a strikemaster mag and although it does stall from time to time it starts almost consistently 2nd or 3rd pull

No problem. They're also out of Marcum 385C's...lots of Aqua Vu left but buyer beware.

I grabbed a lazer mag I put on hold around 2:30 yesterday, at 6:15 last night.
When I put it on hold they had eight ... When I got there they had the two floor models and the one I put on hold.
There were a few Eskimos left.
