Default What fish is this?

Caught on Buffalo lae today,look like it has legs...i said burbot until i seen legs.

It was likely not caught in Alberta, too big and that minnow is rigged as you would a live minnow.

Check out the other thread " Buffalo lake thing " ... same " thing was caught , on the same minnow by a guy wearing the same pants,boots and shirt on the 24th ..... something real "fishy" about this....lol...

used to see them in ontario, i think they were called a hellbender salamander or something to that effect.

I've been rigging my smelts this way lately, works good.

I used to catch those all the time in Ontario in the sydenham river growing up. We called them dog fish. Ugly slippery little buggers.

There was a stocked trout lake not too far from Medicine Hat back in the early 70s that was crawling with these. They liked worms ...it was creepy taking them off the hook. I would imagine there are still places that these thrive in Southern Alberta

It's a type of salamander, called a mud puppy. Seen em caught before back in Manitoba, I think there pretty cool !

Tiger Salamander, caught them on worms and Pickeral rigs in the Beaumont pond when I was a kid.

I would scream like a girl if I pulled that thing through the ice. Ill be sure to post the vudeo If I do. Would you all prefer to see me scream, or get a look at the salamander?

I think it is a hellbender salamander. My uncle used to catch some of those out in Ontario

Depends on where it was caught....if Alberta, tiger salamander... if out east it could be a different type.

This is a juvenille specimen of a Komodo Dragon that will most definatelly turn into Godzilla if you feed it after midnight! I know the person that caught this it is my cousins brothers farhers uncle!

Tadpole. Should lose it's tail and feet within a month. Maybe gain another couple pounds as well.
Pretty sure it's a mud puppy from out east. Don't look like the tiger salamanders around the Camrose area.
