Default May at Chickakoo Lake 2014

My friends and I have gone to Chickakoo Lake a few times this month. Here are some pictures of our outings. We've been having a lot of success using either gold or silver Mepps Scyclops spoons (smallest size) trolling at about speed 3. It's been very productive each time we've gone the most being 17 in a day (all catch and release).

Nice looking fish! Do you figure Chickakoo would be suitable for using waders or is it dug in such a way that theres a big drop off or anything like that?

We tried dropping off a friend with waders in a shallow part of the lake but he sank right into the mud. We only tried the one spot so I'm not sure about the rest of the lake.

Chickakoo is muddy all over, you will sink wherever you try and wade in. I have the best luck fishing that lake from a belly boat

This is a natural lake and is quite deep in the middle. I believe it is up to 70 ft. deep.

Nice pics too.
