Default Athabasca area - New service pole?

Wondering if anyone knows of a good/reputable contractor to drill and place a single power pole on my property near athabasca?

Not Athabasca, but I had the power company do mine a couple of years ago when I was running power to an outbuilding. Was actually pretty cheap, they have all the gear, even supplied the pole.

I have had really good luck with talking directly to Fortis in Athabasca for my power needs and repairs. They have been fast and cheap to hook up new power and replace yard lights.

Fortis @ 310-9473

Cheap ?

Years ago I wanted to move the pole with the can to a new spot. They said about 10k ! Still have not moved it. No need for a new pole or can.

Things change over time. I paid about 750 for the install plus whatever the pole cost, which I don't actually remember but seems like it was another 700 or so. I could have bought a used one a lot cheaper but then I would have to figure out how to get a 40' pole to the property, this was easier.

Default Power pole

I installed two power poles myself and put yard lights on them. Bought them from Golden spike lumber in Spruce grove. I think they cost me around $500.
Just ran Secondary to them myself.

I’m just north of Fortis zone, I am in ATCOs area. I’ll touch base with them.

My main problem is lifting the 35’ into the hole, I can do everything else my self.

Mainly looking for an auger and boom truck operator.

I just put the extension on the auger on the skid steer and drill a hole 8’ deep. Lay the pole by the hole and get under the end with the skid steer and lift and drive ahead until it falls in the hole.

I suspect bulk underground electrical conduit and renting a ditch witch would be orders of magnitude more than a pole and wires?

Something nice about not having above ground wires

Less wire I have to provide going overhead instead of underground. Service provider will bring it to my pole, versus me having to bring the underground to them! Also more permitting ect.

I've been involved with raising Totem Poles and Sundance Trees.
Some ropes and some inspired people, up they go....
