The facts will come out when the trial is over, and the verdict is reached.

Without a doubt !

But there’s a big difference between shooting a ram in Jasper, and having a permit expire for ducks you were donating and had frozen for a kennel club !

I’m sure you get what I’m saying here

I've talked to Phil a time or two, seemed like an OK guy, but our interactions were brief. No idea if he's guilty or not, but if he is found guilty on that many charges there needs to be serious consequences. BC Outfitter / hunter Abe Dugan was charged a few years back after he killed a ram here in Yukon. They didnt catch him until 12 years later, and I heard the judge threw out that charge. They did get him on wasting meat, and he was charged with other violations in BC. I think he was allowed to keep his BC concession, but you gotta wonder how many lines he crossed in those 12-years. When they get a guy on that many charges theres a definite pattern and they should lose their hunting license for life....outfitting license too.

Public information you can order the transcripts of the charges with the file number attached to the charges. All names and circumstances will be on them.

It seems you can't take pictures in a court room, or pictures of people inside a court house. I think what he did was perfectly fine, legal and kosher.

Let me know if you interpret it differently.

It looked like they were photos of the court docket which is publicly available at the court house. No one took photos inside a court house or of someone inside the room. The dockets are a list of names and charges for all the court rooms for whoever is in session for that day.

The roster hanging up in the foyer of the courthouse has names and corisponding charges related to accused. No issues with taking a picture of it. It's public information and not in the court room itself.

See here:

Members of the public are prohibited from using cameras, tape recorders, video equipment and other electronic devices in Court facilities. Photographs and video recordings are not permitted. Cell phones should be turned off or kept on silent and kept out of sight when court is in session.

I'm guessing you've never spent any time at a court house before? Pretty sure the one in Edmonton has big screens displaying the names and court rooms for everyone seeing a judge that day.

Anyone can walk in and see the names. You can visit and sit in on any court case you want. There is no expectation of privacy at a court house.

No not much, only 10000+ hours in the last 30 years in Ponoka, Edmonton, Wetaskiwin, Leduc, Rimby, St. Plain, Vermillion, Vegreville....... I could walk you through every floor of the Edmonton Courthouse blindfolded...

Innocent until proven guilty, let’s let the court go through its process before we pass our judgement.

LOL. Well Im understanding a bit better now. If it's that serious to take a photo at the court house then that explains why the post was removed from the Facebook group.

OK, it seems that there are slightly different rules for the Alberta Court of Appeals vs the Alberta Court of Queen's Bench. Seeing they are in the same court house, which rules apply?

Should change name of this thread to "Taking pics in a courthouse". People would at least know what to expect...

Yes I guess if you cheat, a 200” deer is possible. What a DB.

So when will you get tired of defending your fallen bretheren?

You are not doing yourself any favours( or building credibility) standing up for these guys.

Hey, I may be wrong, and you may be right. He may be innocent of 70 charges,,,,,,,,,NOT.

And as others have eluded that he has probably poached other animals has a stronger argument now(if true) than yours stating it has no real relavence. Once a poacher, always a poacher.

Maybe shooting coyotes?
