Thank you for sharing such a special buck with us. Its bucks like that that keep me motivated to keep searching even when it seems futile. You never know whats gonna show up in that big northern bush. I see some genes in your buck that look familiar to some t cam shots and horns I have, albeit nowhere near the size for yours. Im gonna PM you my guess as to what part of the country that beast is from.

First off thanks everyone for the compliments on the deer. It truly is a dream deer and could be a deer of a lifetime as well. I won’t say exactly where it was shot as there is plenty of pressure there already and a fairly low deer population. It was in a northern bush zone, no fields for 40 km and quite a bit of logging. I’ve hunted the area for about 10 years and haven’t killed a big buck there until now. I have seen some giants and know of a few good ones that came out of there. The deer I’ve taken in the past have been in that 130-150 range. The past couple years however I have been passing on those bucks with hopes of running into a deer of this caliber. Just the day before I passed on a decent 5x4 in that 150 range. Had him scored and he grossed 187 3/8. So it’s off to the taxidermist and the smoker. He will make some good eats for this ice fishing season and he will be a deer I will remember for a long time. Thanks again
