Default Heading down to Buck lake to avoid the boxing day sillyness, any tips?

I'm doing my homework and checking the various maps and was wondering if it's possible to acees the lake through the calhoons bay campground this time of year with a van. If you have any access tips it would be greatly appreciated.

I cant speek specifically for Buck, but all other lakes I have seen so far are 4x4 only, especially with the warm weather comming...
