Default Anyone else starting to feel like we are in the matrix?

Quote:
I guess this question goes out to the mods. I asked on an older thread but it may not have been noticed.
Mrs.SheepGuide aparantly got banned for one of 2 reasons. She made a coment that Darcy (sheepguide) would score a deer after it hit the ground, or because of a P.M that was sent to myself.
Now I can't see her getting banned for the 1st comment, so I have to lean to the second..... the P.M. Now I thought the P.M's were private so none of this makes much sense to me. Please feel free to clear this up for me because maybe I am reading too much into this, and there were some other factors going on.....

Yes PMs are private, unless a member reports a pm to us.

Yes there are other factors that you don't need to know about and yes you are reading too much into this.

This will not be discussed any further.

Nope, I think the mod answered the questions succinctly and correctly. You don't know what else was said or done, and you don't need to know.

It's getting pretty sad that a guy has to worry about getting banned with everything he post.

Default crossing the lines

The lines are pretty clear with a little common sense. If you cross them you generally get warned just in case comon sense is not so common.
Ignore the warning you are gone. Don't waste a lot of time wondering about something so clear cut. If you don't make the rules you should follow those who do. If you can't you can leave voluntarily or otherwise.
Seems pretty clear and no deep and dark secrets.

Privately owned site
Moderators appointed by the owner
We sign up for free
There are rules
Breaking rules gets you banned
If the owner doesn't like you, he could ban you if he wanted

Hmmmm. I like it

Agreed!

This being a message board, it is used to benefit the outdoors community. Being able to search previous threads about why and how the moderators act as volunteers on this site has no purpose here, in my opinion; as it does nothing to contribute to the outdoors community, other than more incessant whining.

If you don't want to follow the rules, leave. Or break them, and be escorted out.

Don't poke the bear and expect not to be bitten.

If you follow the rules which 99.9% of you do you have no worries. Its that small percentage that break the rules that get banned. Then they whine about getting banned.

Well said The Fisherman Guy. Glad to see some people understand things.

As for people being banned here. Every person that has been banned here has been warned and has had good reason to be banned.
I don't think there is anything else to discuss here. If you dont like things leave.
