Default Near Edmonton fishing

Hey everyone!

New to the forum but have been following for quite some time. Wanted to take my cousin out somewhere ice fishing since he just came from Europe and I wanted to show him our Canadian fish. Any places near Edmonton that arent too far that have good fishing? We would be happy with any fish, preferably ones we can eat but if not then Catch and Release are fine. Thanks

If you want quality and don't mind C&R I would suggest Wabamun.

I heard wabamun is crap at the moment though. I went a couple times in the summer and had a 4 foot pike get away right in front of my eyes. Other than that no action for all the times I went.

I too am interested. I haven't lived in this are long and tend to go after trout. Anyone know of some ponds around here (within an hour). I prefer to keep what I catch when ice fishing, that would be ideal. If you can point me in the right direction mech appreciated.

for close by:
Spring lake southwest of Stony plain. You have to walk onto the ice and parking is limited because there are cabins all the way around the lake.

Cardiff pond 10 minutes north of St. Albert.

Trout and some perch in each.
