Electrical Question need assistance ASAP
Gang,
I'm changing out my range plug from it being hardwired to a receptacle... On the receptacle itself it's marked green (ground) white and X & Y. Which are the X & Y red or black, etc.?!
Thanks,
Peter

Doesn't matter, Red or Blk can go on those terminals. As long as you have the grd on the right one and the white on the right one.

Generaly most plugs, screws, are marked by color too, green for green, silver for white and brass or gold for the red and black or power. Mike has it right.

make sure you install the plug so the ground slot is in the 3 or 9 0'clock position, not the 12 0r 6 position. Just thought I would add that.

White and black, or red, will get you 110. Touch the black and red to get the joys of a 220 Shock.
