P.M's private or not..

I guess this question goes out to the mods. I asked on an older thread but it may not have been noticed.
Mrs.SheepGuide aparantly got banned for one of 2 reasons. She made a coment that Darcy (sheepguide) would score a deer after it hit the ground, or because of a P.M that was sent to myself.
Now I can't see her getting banned for the 1st comment, so I have to lean to the second..... the P.M. Now I thought the P.M's were private so none of this makes much sense to me. Please feel free to clear this up for me because maybe I am reading too much into this, and there were some other factors going on.....

Yes PMs are private, unless a member reports a pm to us.

Yes there are other factors that you don't need to know about and yes you are reading too much into this.
