Cool Neat little trick- removing fishing line

One of my frustrations is changing lines especially on level wind wheels that hold allot of line, I had 7 reels today I wanted to change and had to figure had to be an easier way. Well in 3-5 minutes removed 1500+ yards of line, all it cost me was a bolt, 2 washers and 2 nuts and a recyclable water bottle. thought I would share poor mans version lol. when done, keep the lid for next water bottle. hopefully someone can make use of this idea LOL

Feel free to share other quick cheap tips to make life a little easier fishing

just tied the next line and kept er going

I do the same thing but recycle old plastic line spools, that line comes on. Then stick a washer on a 1/4in bolt, followed by the spool, another washer then a nut. Stick it in the drill chuck and away you go. I like fly line spools the best, as they hold tons of line.

May I ask why you have so much line on your bait casters? What pound test?

Do you change every year?

With that much line on a reel you don't have to replace it all. Maybe 100 or so.

I like it! That said I usually just get my reels re-spooled at TFH...they take the old stuff off with their machine in a similar fashion.

Of course I also use braided line so respooling isn't required as often.

Really Pixel...mono?

thats a slick system you set up.
are you still going to use mono, or are you going to braid? since i started using braid, i would never go back to mono, though i find it harder to tie knots with braid.
