Default Fishing Bonnyville area Jan 2-3

I am taking my Son out for his first plunge into Ice Fishing this weekend. The last time I went I swore it would be the last time, took an old soft top jeep with out heat, or real close to no heat at -20 and almost froze to death. We had to get out every 20 minutes and warm up outside

I am hoping for better luck this year, it would be nice to see some smiles on the boy's face when he yards out some fish!

I am going to go try the old haunts; Moose, Poplar, Beaverdam, see if I can get some perch, ling cod or maybe some whitefish and try my hand at smoking fish again, haven't done that in years.

I will post pics and results after I get back, IF we have some luck.

Has anyone been out this winter yet in this area? What have you been catching or hearing?

Cold Lk ice scares us, my bro in law lives there and won't go until until much later.
