Default Chain Lakes Athabasca

Out to the lake this afternoon. Lots of bites (worms) and brought home 3 of last years stock ( about a pound ). My three year old loved it. Only about 8" of ice. Since my truck doesn't like to swim I walked on.

My question, after filitting the fish noticed a bunch of red dots under the skin. Redish black about a mm in diameter, hard sort of like a blood clot.
Havn't seen this before, googled and the best I could come up with is Furunculosis.

I assume thier safe to eat, anybody seen this before?

Thanks,
HUTCH
