Default Went for drive and got rewarded with a few bows

Decided to go for a drive and check the lake out for myself. Didn't believe when someone said it was fully iced over. It had to be open by the bridge and sure enough it was. First cast landed a small bow and they just kept coming all day long. Range of sizes, good number in the 14" range, largest was 16". Forearms are sore, think I'll do it again tomorrow. Enjoy

Nice work. The fish are looking healthy. I am surprised you didn't get anything in the 20" range.

I can't wait until I can dump my boat in there.

Hopefully I can make it down there more often after I sell the trailblazer and get into a small car.

I hoped to hook up on a bigger one but these were solid fish today. Was limited to fishing on the bridge today. Would have liked to wade along the edge of the reeds but the water is up to the willows and I'm too short to stand in the mud. May try the north shore tomorrow, or put the toon on if the wind stays away.

Probably won't get a boat on for another week or two though.

Wow, nice fish. Don't know what lake this is, looks like it would be well worth the visit.

Not what it used to be but still my all time favorite water to fish. Chronies, beaded prince nymph and small black/maroon leech pattern. Wind put just the right amount of chop on the water. Light bites today, would have missed most of the takes if I wasn't using an indicator.

LC this was Police Lake.

If I do end up getting a small car I will strap the pontoon to the roof and head down there for a float.

If you make it down there again post up some more pictures. I love the scenery around that lake. I am going to have to try and make a camping trip down there this year.
