Very interesting. I would not have guessed correct on either fish. I wonder if this is true of all species. I would imagine?

I gave this a try on 12" perch (white) and 46cm walleye (clear). I'm getting 6 year for perch and 9 on the walleye. I tried to attach pictures but no go. Will try again later.

For trout, you use the otolith (inner ear bone).
