Default What’s this worth?

Won this in a raffle.

Guessing it was re-chambered as a 280 Remington with a Butler Creek stock

Does the US 1906 stamp mean it was manufactured in that year?

I never even shot it. I won it in a raffle thinking it was a 280 AI. Was going to replace my 7mm rm with. But when it arrived it was a 280 Rem Mag.

280rem or 280AI, there is no 280remmag.

Correct. It’s a 280 Rem

US 06 means it was originally chambered in 30’06. I have the same thing in a 300 wm also in a butler creek stock. Mine was done by Ralph martini and shoots well. Worth a lot more than $495 imo.

I can't see the pics too clearly, but it looks like a '98 Mauser action.
Depending on how it shoots , Dick's estimate is about right - as long as someone wants a milsurp actioned hunting rifle that is on the heavy side with a blind mag.

Take it out and see if it shoots well. If it does, it would be fairly inexpensive to have a gunsmith run a 280 AI reamer into the existing chamber and you would have the 280 AI you are looking for. Would be worth talking to Henry Remple in Calgary.

Good advice.
