Default Rapala Otus & Peto

Rapala Canada just made the Otus and Peto lures available through their Canadian website. These are substantial baits, suitable for early spring pike. My understanding is this is a limited release, so if you want them you may want to act quickly.

I cannot afford Rapala lures anymore. Over priced.

8” - 10” swimbaits aren’t cheap, no matter the brand. These have a hard plastic front half and come with an extra tail. Compare that to something like the Bondy which is $22 USD and doesn’t have the ability to switch tails if/when they get tore up.

Wish they were out a couple months ago haha. Had a gift card and loaded up on the Rapalas I don't normally buy because of the cost.

They look neat but also too fragile for pike. I rarely use soft baits since I don't like how fast they get wrecked.

The front half is a hard plastic with the rear tails being the soft part. They are replaceable and come with a second tail as well. The reports I have from those that used the Peto last year is that they hold up really well. The Otus is all new, so we shall see I guess.

I like the looks of those, and coming with an extra tail is nice. I'd try them. I've used soft grub jig bodies with tails and they hold up pretty decent for me with pike and walleye, better than real bait. Good luck with them, hope you catch a big one!

For those interested in the Otus but not wanting to shell out the $$ for one, I am doing a giveaway of one in the Hot Pike colour on my Instagram page (@harderoutdoors). Also including an “Off The Hook” unit as well.

Thought I would mention it here so more folks get a chance.
