Alberta Outdoor Heritage Association
Rebuilding our hunting, fishing and trapping heritage while increasing opportunity and management of a mature and stable population.
United we stand. Divided we fall.
We can create an organization that has extensive financing, the undivided attention of our government, and harmonized goals from all user groups.
Or, the failing AFGA, SCI, FNAWS, ATA, ABA, ATHA, APOS, ACA, AHEIA, SAWT, NAWT can continue to fight amongst each other and cripple our sacred Alberta outdoor heritage.

With the amount of infighting amongst outdoorsman, I don't think it would ever fly. Conversations on this site are proof.

Sounds good. That last paragraph, however, sounds like it is another one to add to that list (in terms of fight among each other).

More then I’d like to admit. Anti hunting is no longer coffee shop talk in urban centers. They are funded and organized. Are we?

Sure, why not? Okay, who’s going to be first to give up their empire?

I did
I enjoyed it as well!
I’m in Moose River, but AFGA has to be removed, there is no room for two.
The others you listed are special interest groups with different mandates.
You will need a legal team to fight the issues, that’s one area where AFGA fails.

thoughts
this is a step in the right direction. the only way in my opinion that something like this works is if the membership is 100% of the participants involved. what i would like to see is a checkoff paid when a wildlife certificate is purchased and then everyone is a member. My issue with the AFGA is that a small portion of the hunting population is a paying member. those members then work on an agenda that is not including all members of the hunting community. i said this before in a post a while back, that because i am involved in the industry, a model replicating the Alberta Beef Producers is what i would support. The zones are already in place. Each zone has reps elected, then out of that chairmen and so on are then elected or appointed. this infighting amongst each other has no purpose nor does it give direction. it serves as fodder for the people in which we are having issues with. one group with a 100% membership, thats the way to go.

Wow. Quite the list of "failures" you've compiled there. You're really up to speed on things, aren't you? Really have your finger on the pulse of what's going on. All these organizations, many of which are run on volunteer time, that according to you, are "Failing". Are they? Really? Ever asked to see the financial statements for any of them? Would you understand them, if you did? Do you have any idea where their money and efforts are going? Are you a member of any of them?
FNAWS doesn't even exist anymore. Hasn't for years. You might want to do a little more research before you start collecting membership dues for your new orgaization that's going come in and save us all.

WSF as I know your familiar with. Hasn’t been “putting sheep on the mountain” in Alberta. Quite the opposite with the transplants actually. The bigger picture is when bighorns become a draw. What will WSF do for the general tag bighorn hunter in AB?

A far more relevant question would be "What HAS wsfa DONE for the general tag bighorn hunter in AB?"

Again, you really should get yourself informed. Are you one of the many that are under the false impression that wsfa sold sheep for transplants to the USA?

That’s odd to assume.
What will the Alberta chapter do when well funded and organized anti hunting groups target trophy sheep hunting in Alberta?

What's odd about it? You said: "Quite the opposite with the transplants actually" I'm not sure how else a person could take that? If I'm wrong, then please explain to me what you meant.
