Seem to be fairly questionable penalties to me....

Little tense at the end and solid PK. Always fishy when penalties start all of a sudden happen as time is running out. Good win
Ok they keep saying Smith is starting tomorrow, I would have to question Peters if that happens. Rittich just had a solid shutout, how do you not keep the hot tendi in there?
We will see. Should be salty Soiler fan free in here, as we won and are up on them in the standings. Should be quiet till they win a game. Haha

Not sure what that kind of deafening silence will be like.......haven't heard it since last year.

All the evidence I see indicates Rittich should be transitioned to the starters roll and Smith to the back up. If Rittich starts to falter, so be it, try to get Smith out of whatever he is in. But judging Rittich's ability from last years performance seems shortsighted.

I don't know if it is possible to sit a Goalie after he throws a shut out.
He has to start and the team can reset on thursday against MTL.

His job is to make the Flames make very tough choices. He is doing it in spades.

Amazing, Peters must be the only coach in he NHL that would sit a goalie after posting a Shutout. Smith better be on a short leash. 2 softies and yank.

Makes sense with some of his other goaltending decisions though.

The oil did it to the friendly giant.... went and threw talbot back in and started losing..... must be an Alberta thing....well it wasn’t after his shutout but it was on a nice win streak.

I would love to see any sort of stat that shows when or if a Goalie has sat after a shutout. (Perhaps someone has with extenuating circumstances) I am in disbelief. Thats not fair. SO's are a rare thing, Smith should be on the bench and EVERYONE in that locker room knows it.

Everyone but Peters.

But please, it's a four point game, if he let's in two softies on the first three shots for the love of all things Holy, pull him and give them a chance to win!!!

I’d say one softy
I get that they want to keep working on Smith, but I agree Rittich should be given the nod here...

I'm all for them giving Smith games to shake the monkey off the back, all though with a short leash, and would love to see him get out of this funk and kick butt the rest of the way. That said though not tonight, Rittich earned a start with a shutout. This is a slap in the face for a great game he had last night. Bad move Peters, why will players want to work hard and perform if it's not rewarded with extra shifts or whatever.

I have trouble believing that a head coach could be so stupid but Peter's isn't giving me much reason to doubt....

Surprised we didn't get a tripping call on Karlsson.

Nice shot Monahan!

Wow. This is probably the worst reffing display I've seen in quite some time. Some pretty blatant missed calls, tripping, slashing sticks out of hands, delay of game. Am I being a homer or was it pretty bad tonight?

Hey, Cassie Campbell. In every game there are 2 teams on the ice. I know you realize this. What you don’t realize is the shames opposition isn’t the only one that should get penalties.

Generally I blame Smith for everything, but it really was pretty slanted tonight with the Zebras. That non call on delay of game was...hard to explain what it was? Maybe the refs get a kickback?

And we don't have woes Bessie...still way ahead of woes. That would be a thrashing from the Avs that is woes...

Another blame it on the ref game? Nice.

Are you just being a wanker or did you watch the game and think it was legit?

We had some good chances tonight and Jones played well to stop us. Smith did well also, hope gets some confidence back. Team out front of his didn't give a lot of help at times. Not blaming refs for the loss but that was brutal. Delay of game right in front of all of them and nothing?? Common BS no call, also slashed stick out of hand and nothing, WOW.
On another note how are the Coilers doing tonight? Amazing I am sure.

Smith played well.

Looked to me like Kane flicked it right over, ref was 10' away, and no call. Was the ensuing faceoff outside the zone?
