it can get abit freaky when the larger oats are ripping by you. We were just about swamped a few times by large boat wakes coming into the boat. I found it best to fish early morning and get out of there before the boat traffic picked up in the afternoon

Yes, thats exactly what i have used the past two years and i have taken my young daughter with me. As with any large lake, use caution. When i go with my daughter, i don't stray too far from moonlight bay.

Good luck, I am really jealous as I would normally be heading there right now for 10 days....gonna miss it.

As long as the kids aren't super hyper and all over the boat you'll be fine

Last week we had 2 adults in my little 12' aluminum and we were all over that lake! Just keep an eye on the weather and if things start to get windy just get back closer to where you launched.

Also, there is now a $15 fee to launch/park in town

Yep, but they're going to make a killing this weekend.

Looks like it's the PP or more likely the sailing club for me from now on.

Is there anywhere a guy could park at Fallis or is all marked 'No Parking'?

Its not the boat, its the operator. Saw guys at the "3 sisters" on the north end of Texada Island, in a 14 with a 20 horse. They had crossed from French Creek.

Used to fish to Flora rock on Hornby Island on a 14 with a 20 myself, for years.

Awareness, and a solemn lack of courage, will keep you safe. I know "The Good Lord Sure Hates a Coward", ( as told to my by stump racncher extrordinaire, Werner Dorsch), but I just want to meet my maker later, rather than sooner.
