That would be a "handful", not handle...

Started out today out from the PP boat launch and managed a couple eyes but over sized for my Class B tags. Moved after lunch to the South of the Mulhurst launch and filled my 3 Class B tags by dark. Not crazy action but enough around to keep it interesting. Didn't see any other species but eyes all day and ice was 12-15"....

Has anyone been out lately? How thick is the ice? Has anyone fished off the Norris Beach area?

The guy that made the ice racing track in Mulhurst bay with a tractor said its 19" in the bay...... Saw diesel dualies on the ice so I'd say you're good. Easy to get around , not much for snow.

Good ice and easy access at Mulhurst, I went out yesterday late in the day, several people out. Real slow, only a few bits……. But nice to be out.

We ended up getting out on the ice at Silver Beach just before lunch yesterday.
Didn't get a bite or see anything until about 4:30 when the walleye started moving in. We had a couple bites and picked up one but it was just over the Class B size. Tip up's were dead all day. Great day to be on the lake even though the fishing wasn't great...

Ya generally until late Feb I won't fish in the bay unless I'm just sneaking out for a quick eve. fish..... I was out on the hump & same thing. The lowlight in the am with the snow was good fishing, once the the sun came out bright they turned off. Gonna be out a few mornings this week, determined to find the whites in that lake! Lol

It there still good truck access by Mullhurst or should I bring my quad or skidoo? I usually fish 3km west of the boat launch.

No you can still get around with a truck pretty easy.... The ice heaves have gotten a little bigger to the west but can still find a trail across.

We were out by provincial park twice last week and got skunked both times. Tried Mulhurst and nothing either. Just trying to fill some tags.. Any tips anyone?

You could try 1 of the mid-lake humps or even the island for the evening or morning bites to fill some tags.....

I've heard that term"Hump" a few times now in reference to Pigeon but I have no idea where that would be! I've only ever fished at PP and at Mulhurst and many years ago at Gull island over by Ma-Me-o for whites. Can you explain to me where the "Humps" are? I have a quad so can go pretty much anywhere. Tx for your help.

You mean Bird **** island? There's a trail just north of Mameo out to the island. It's just past the cemetery on the Rez road bout 1/2 km north of town....

You might want to try the opposite side of the island...you know...towards the middle of the lake

I couldn't make it last weekend so I am for sure going this weekend. I'm hoping it is still OK for driving on the ice with a truck after the warm week. I could bring my quad if things have gotten worse. Any update on driving condition on the ice would be appreciated.

Let us know how you do, as I'm dying to fill these tags! But it's not sounding like anyone is catching much right now...
