Default BPS spring fishing classic

So who all has been to Bass Pro spring fishing classic? Anyone go see Dave Mercer there Sat or Sunday? I went on Sunday and it was very busy. Got to meet Dave and chatted with him a little bit. Good guy for sure, he's definitely one of my favorite fishing hosts. His little presentation in the aquarium was alright too. He was bragging up the shimano volaeus rods and showed how they are unbreakable, people were flocking to them after his show . I have to admit that I was impressed as well, and for $50 its a decent rod. I've seen him fish with those Berkley sinking minnows before was was super impressed with them watching them in the tank. Every time he put it out there a fish would eat it right away and hang on to it for minutes at time...incredible (no hooks of course). So I was suckered into getting a package of those...and many more things.

Also power pro was on sale so I bought some since all the great reviews of it on here. Holy am I ever impressed. I went back last night to get some more. I spooled some on a couple of reels already. Yesterday afternoon I was casting in my yard...wow I really like this power pro. I suggest getting some yourselves! (yes I was casting in my yard, I'm definitely ready for open water...can't wait lol!!)

My other purchases:
- wicked deal on lowerance HD5
- Shimano Citica bait caster
- Shimano Clarus bait caster rod 7' M
- Walleye angler 6'6" ML spin rod
- Pflueger President 6730X spin reel
- 2 - 30 lb power pro, 1 40 lb, 1 20 lb
- couple new dipsy divers
- couple of new floating raps
- couple new deep runners
- new color subwalk
- couple other odds and ends that were on sale

All in all, spent quite a bit of money. Oh well I don't mind though, fishing is very important to my happiness.

How about you guys?

Perusing Kijiji yesterday, I saw that same model for sale for $650. Someone's trying to "invest"... Thanks for buying up all the units that people like ME would actually use, instead of trying to flip them for more money.

Drats I was there Saturday and never even thot of checking out the fishfinder section as I was peruing their abo****ely lousy selection of fishing rods. They advertise lots in their catalogues but try and find any of them there. Ended up dropping $200 on crankbaits and will be back there this Monday to spend the rest of my gift certificates from Xmas.

You can't blame them for trying. Captialism at it's best.

I think I spent close to 1 g there.
They had a 90 buck float tube, wicked deal I couldn't pass up.
Simms Freestone Waders
Orvis boots(they were out of the new simms)
New Shimano Trolling rod. Shiity rod selection is correct, unless u just want XPS stuff.
More money on rapal's since they were on sale. Give the taildancers another try maybe.
and other stuff.

The president reels were on for a really good price, and I'm kinda ticked that I didn't pick one up.

I went there thinking they would have all the Terminator Spinnerbaits.
They had the skirts, thats it. Pretty lame. I don't think anyone in the city has the T-1's, just seen the T2's.

I like the Gamakatsu barbless hooks now though, just wish they had size 12 treble's.

The sales guy at BPS told me that people were picking them up and while they were paying for them, they were calling, twitting and texting the friends and family....Proof that in the tech-info age, you have to be real fast....

A very kind AOF member sold me their extra one yesterday. You know who you are and I am extremely grateful for it. I've been reading the owner's manual while I should have been working today.

And yes, my sonar will now be worth more than my boat.
