Red Deer River Angler Survey

If you fish the Red Deer River from the Dickson Dam to Tolman bridge please help out with the Red Deer River Angler Survey. All that is required is a bit of your time after you get off the water to fill a short creel card highlighting your angling experience. This information will help fisheries managers set limits and regulations on this reach of the river. This project was started by local Fish and Game Clubs in Red Deer, Dickson and Drumheller.

If you down load the dropbox app for either Android or Apple the form can be completed and emailed on Smartphone.

In order to fill out form the form must be downloaded to Adobe Reader or equivalent to fill out form. I can see from the limited responses we have been getting people are not either fishing the river much, don't care or are having trouble with the form download. Hope this clears up the confusion and people start filling out forms.

In order to collect more angler use data on the Red Deer River have decided to run the project one more year. The results of last years survey found that walleye are the most commonly caught species followed by goldeye. What we also found is the catch rates were 1.1 fish per hour of fishing. The average length of angling effort was 2.5 hours. Please help out this year bu filling out a survey form either online or at one of the access points along the river. The flood did a number on several of our boxes within the City of Red Deer and at the Penhold Bridge so there are no longer boxes here but we may replace them with less used locations.
