Default Health Insurance Advice

Good day all,
I recently resigned from my job and lost the benefits with it. We are looking for a health and dental care plan for our family. The kicker is : I need a plan that will cover pre existing prescriptions.
Just looking for some input as to which companies others are using, and any advice from someone who has dealt with this issue.
And just to stop the "You shouldn't have quit" comments. The benefits were good, but not worth staying in my situation.
Thanks' in advance

Are you in a line of work where it's likely you will be unemployed for quite a while? I wouldn't bother with additional health insurance unless I was starting my own business, etc. You might be employed in a month.
