Default Where to buy Nissan/Tohatsu outboards in Canada?

Just wondering if anyone knows any online sites that are offering nissan/tohatsu outboards here in Canada. I was ready to pull the trigger on a 18hp 4 stroke from Cabelas, but found out they wont ship these to Canada. Price of $2099 was certainly a steal. In fact, I have found lots of stateside sites selling these brand new for about that price.

I see the only dealers close to Calgary are B&L (wont step foot in that store) and Mountain Toys in Cochrane (wants $3000+ for same motor) Ouch!!!

Anyone order these locally at a reasonable price?

Free Spirit Marine in Edmonton used to sell Nissan outboards. Don't know if they still do.

Default motor

Thx for the info, I'll try calling around in the next few days. I imagine once Basspro opens next year they will be selling mercury motors by themselves (so I hope). Hopefully if they do, I may wait and try and pick one up during one of their sales.

On a recent trip to Vegas, they had smaller (3.5hp) merc's going for $800 during a spring sale. Here's hoping they carry a full line of outboards here.

And with some of the smaller outboards, the only difference between Tohatsu,Nissan, and Mercury is the paint, the decals and the price.

Personally I would just go across the line and pick one up. Even with gas to get there and back you should be a little cheaper than 3g. Or if you talk to a few mom and pop shops just south of the board they might ship you one up.
Good Luck

Not sure where you are from, but Southern Prop in Medicine Hat sells them.
