Default Where to buy Kayak in Edmonton?

Hey there, I am looking to buy a new Kayak, sit-on-top with rod holders and such. Just wondering where in Edmonton I would be able to find one? And also suggestions on which one I should get, it will only be used for fishing.

Theres a rather limited selection of sit on tops in Edmonton. MEC carries the Moken Feelfree kayaks, which are a decent looking, lower priced boat. If your willing to spend more id recommend checking out the Native Manta Ray or Ultimate at Aquabatics in Calgary. Also you might want to get a boat that isn't pre rigged for fishing. You'll save some money and then you can outfit it yourself the way you want.

My dad just grabbed the Malibu Kayak stealth 12 Fish N' Dive. Really nice Kayak with some cool accessories.

Get a canoe! Bring your buddy, carry more gear, take extend trips into places that see few anglers, use it to hunt moose. Not as specialised as fishing kayaks but you can make a good canoe do just about anything My favorite is the Mad River Explorer. In this picture we've got a quartered moose, hunting gear, and enough camping gear to keep two guys comfortable for 2 weeks in it. The rest of the year I spend many evenings paddling it solo up and down the Slave River in search of walleye. Like I said it will do just about anything.

Thanks a lot everyone. Think I will be sticking with a Kayak since I fish by myself a lot and do not bring much gear. Plus I have a 14ft aluminum boat for when I bring people along with me. I will definitely check out Ocean Sports, and if nothing I like then take a trip down to Calgary. Don't mind at all rigging it myself either, that way I will get exactly what I want. Have not done much looking around but I have a budget of around $1300...

$1300 should give you a lot of options. Kijiji is another good idea. There's a Wilderness Systems Tarpon or there right now in your price range, outfitted with a Minn Kota. Kind of defeats the purpose of a kayak if you ask me haha, but its pretty slick.

I have to buy new with reciept. Due to using an account I have at work which pays for sporting equipment. Otherwise Kijiji would be a great idea.

Ocean Kayak Trident 13 or Prowler 13 would be on my short list.

I bought a Perception Caster 12.5 from WSS last year and for the money it can't be beat ($600 including bunch of great fishing accessories). But if you have over a G to spend the OK T13 or P13 are killer. MEC is an Ocean Kayak dealer. You might want to see if they can order one for you.

BPS in Calgary carries the OK P13.

Good luck.

We were gonna grab an Ocean Kayak from BPS. The malibu kayaks seemed like a better option. $1400 base price for the stealth 12 fish and dive. Big hatch in the front and a casting platform, very sturdy looking kayak.

Are they having a 50% off sale right now?
I'm pretty sure the Hobie's are way over his budget.
