Default Hail Storm In NW Calgary (pics)

WOW! Less than an hour ago we got hammered with hail. It not only woke up Mrs Tree, but my wee 3 year old daughter as well. Kindda had a cool family moment curled up in a big 'ol blanket together watching the whole thing. The boy was passed out from a day of fishing.

Within 15 minutes there was 6" of it in places. The size was primarily 'pea', but the odd one was marble+. Worst one I've seen since I've moved here in '95.

Anyway, I snapped a few pics and thought you guys might like to see them. My freakin' plants in the back yard look like they're toast though. Enjoy.

Ya it was a doozey last night. Even woke ME up, and I'm in Fox Creek!!
It woke up the wife, (she hates thunder) who proceeded to call me for comfort. And to tell me that I apparently need to clean out the gutters.

I don't even want to think about my stupid gutters..............

Hoochie, we gotta live pretty close to each other as it seems that this even was very isolated. I'm in Silver Springs and my inlaws are in Dalhousie and experienced the same thing. Everyone else just got the rain.

As a side note, with 20 minutes of storm, down the street on the main road in, the 'high water mark' was at least 5' above the road surface! On the down side, all of my plants I've been babying got the absolute sh*t kicked out of 'em.

Sitting in the Grandstand last.. (Gota watch the chuck finals) The lightening to the north was just incredible. Fortunately we didn’t see rain.

Tree,

Not that close. I'm in Beddington. We got hail, but not nearly as much as you did. My in-laws are in Silver Springs though. They live right across the street from Ed the C.O.

Maybe we should BBQ up some steaks this weekend.
