Default wind turbine tech

Posting for a friend...He's young and is considering taking the course in Lethbridge. He doesn't have any experience with wind turbines or electrical...any thoughts,or suggestions. How much work is out there?

I know a couple guys that did the program, neither found a job. It sounded like positions are pretty few and far between.

He'd be better off becoming an electrician and getting his rope access ticket, more versatile...
