Default Bug band

May be music to my ears. Anyone try it?

http://bugband.net/

I use 100% Deet in Ben's repellent and it works, but I don't like putting it on my grandkids.

I know two people who contracted West Nile in my area. One passed away. The other is slowly recovering[two years]. It affected her like a stroke.

Sounds like a snake oil....
The problem with all these things is a longevity of the product active ingredients. The DEET will last up to 12 hours. This things might work great but only for a shirt period of time. If you are sensitive to DEET, then you may try using it re- applying it frequently.

KGB, did you read the information on the link?
It says effective up to 120 hrs. Use it and put it in airtight case untill you need it again.

It's not snake oil by the way it's oil extracted from the geranium plant.

This is a product i will have to try out this summer.
The deet is effective, however i find it will pull ink out of certain materials and its kind of an irritant..

Do you always believe whats written on a labels? I don't think so. Cause in that case I would have every singe item from the shopping channel....
Sorry pal, I am very skeptical when it comes to that kind of things....

KGB. I'm not arguing with you as I only know what I read about it on their site, and the reports I have from friends I believe in the U.S.

They have no reason to BS about it.

I asked if anyone has tried it?

BTW I doubt you are more skeptical than I.

Yup use them on our kids. Not as effective as Off or Muskol, but we don't spray that on the kids either. Lots of natural repellents out there in spray form that work better I feel.

Vinny, Do you mean work better than this product, or work better than off, etc.?

What natural products are those?

The natural sprays work better than the bands because the skin coverage is better.

Default BugBand

I have used this product for almost 10 years and it is the best thing on the market...

If you hunt, use the spray lotion or towelettes... it keeps the ticks off and the rest of the bugs...

If you fish, wear the bands or use the towelettes... NO DEET...
Won't melt your fishing line or anything plastic or gelcoat on your boat and it works~

I swear by it for my grandkids, put it on their carrier when they were babies and now on their wrist or ankle when they play...

We buy it by the carton. You have to buy direct if you're in Canada, they are not approved to sell in retail stores. That's why they're online.
In the US Bass Pro and Cabela's carries them... if that tells you anything.

Default Bug Bands

We have used them when out in the gopher patch while others in our group used sprays. We will be purchasing more from Will & Donna at the next gun show we see them at! And I have 100% deet I thought was the best insect deterrent available! Used deet all over Manitoba and here in Alberta but the bands do work!

Made me think of "bug music"!

Anyway, it looks like an interesting product...pity they can't be had locally to try out.

I wonder if it's the same as these: http://www.zapstrapz.com/

I saw this style at the pet store beside west end princess auto in Edmonton today and grabbed a couple for the dogs.

I'm an eat a clove of garlic a day kinda guy and don't get bothered much but x2 on the thermacell, they are great for a small radius when taking a knee in a small group. I also don't mind Muskol if it's terrible out.

When the mozzies get out I guess I'll find out if the pooches are still bothered. I like that they are waterproof as I can't have non swimming dogs.
