Default Alger Arms Co Shotgun

Im getting mixed results with online search towards whether or not a LAMINATED steel barrel is safe to shoot today ( with black powder only ). Its an old hammer Belgium double barrel shotgun with laminated barrels and im not sure if i should buy it or pass. It seems to be in very good condition given its age and i only plan on using it for upland game such as partridge and grouse with black powder rounds only. Anyone have experience with these guns?
