Default Stupid question about Cold Lake this weekend

Given Sask does not have a free fishing weekend in Feb like Alberta; do you have to stay on the Alberta side of Cold Lake if you do not have a fishing licence for this up coming weekend?

From the Regs

"Sportfishing in Cold Lake
Sportfishing in Cold Lake requires either an Alberta Sportfishing
Licence (see licence exemptions under “Requirements” on this page),
or a Saskatchewan Angling Licence. The Alberta Fishery Regulations,
1998 apply to the Alberta portion of Cold Lake; while the Saskatchewan
Regulations apply to the Saskatchewan portion of Cold Lake (Saskatchewan
regulations are consistent with Alberta regulations for Cold Lake)."

you can fish the entire lake as either license covers it.

but you don't need a licence in Alberta this weekend. So without a licence can one fish the entire lake or just the Alberta side.

I don't know if that is actual.

First I heard of it and I don't think I would want to test my luck with a Sask. fish and game officer

From the Sask Regs Page 38

FREE FISHING WEEKEND (July 6 and 7, 2013)
"To encourage participation in angling, Saskatchewan designates one weekend
each year where anyone may fish without an angling licence. This year, Free
Fishing Weekend will take place on July 6 and 7, 2013.
Please note that regular angling limits and sport fishing laws are in effect and
you must purchase a licence if you plan to export any fish from
Saskatchewan. Also, a licence is required to fish in a National Park and a free
Endorsement is required to fish Lac la Ronge."

So I don't think the Free Fishing Nation wide is this weekend.

Here's a crazy idea. pick up the phone and call your local fish and wildlife office. Most times they are happy to help.

I called them and, as I thought, they did not really know. All they could say was you'd probably be OK but as it was not there jurisdiction they could not say nor did they really care. The Alberta Cold Lake Fish and Wildlife also did not know for sure but thought that you would probably be OK. I must say The Cold Lake guys/gals were great and were trying to get a hold of there cohorts from the Sask Side.

Just got off the phone with the great officers on the Sask side. They managed to get a hold of the officer who will be on Cold Lake this weekend. Keith said we would be good to go.
